4999 Vestas Windmill set - Petition for general release

General NewsA number of LEGO news sites are buzzing about the 4999 Vestas Windmill set, a 2+-foot tall windmill with Power Functions motor and lighting!

You can view a picture on Gizmodo.

We don't have complete information at this time, but it sounds like this set might be released only to employees of Vestas, a wind turbine company, and never to the general public.

If this is a set you'd like to see offered for public release, be sure to post your support in this thread. I'll collect the feedback and forward it to Steve Witt of LEGO. There's no guarantee that this will get the Windmill set released to the public, but perhaps it will show the LEGO City designers what we'd like to see them come out with.

There's a similar thread on LUGNET also, so if you have an account there, you can post your feedback there.

Review of set 7239

S@H Information

7239 Fire Truck Ages 5+ Pieces 214 $19.99

TNT User Average: Not yet rated by a user.

Upon opening the box you find three packages and the usual advertising and the decal set. The packages are for 1. The truck, 2. The revolving ladder assembly and 3. The trailer with a rubberlike boat. Each package includes the instruction for what is in it.

There are 214 pcs. Including 2 minifigs, a radio, hatchet, air tanks, breathing tubes and visors, and 2 fire extinguishers It took me about 35 minutes to build the Truck. In another 10 minutes I had the ladder assembly completed and attached to the truck. It took me another 16 minutes to complete the trailer and boat. For me the most difficult task was getting the decals on straight. All in all I think that this is well done. I found only 1 extra small piece. I purchased this directly from LEGO through Shop @ Home.

Design a New LEGO CIty Theme!

General NewsHere's an exciting opportunity for you fans of LEGO City! Jan Beyer of LEGO has requested feedback from YOU on what should be the themes for LEGO City in 2010. If you have an idea for a theme and some sets within that theme, then this is the challenge for you.

Fill out the form found here and return it to me via email, NineVoltTrains AT gmail.com (replace NineVolt with its abbreviation and AT with @). Be sure to put "LEGO City Themes" in the subject line, too. You can also attach one picture showing your ideas. I'll collect all of the results and return them to Jan.

Please try to return your forms by July 27!

Trains-n-Town Container Stickers

ShopWe have a limited number of Container Sticker sets available.  For those that participated in the Save 9v Train container sticker drive these stickers are of a nicer and more consistent quality.

Because a large print run was not feasible these stickers were somewhat expensive to print.  Because of this the markup is significantly smaller than for other items.  A single sticker set includes 2 logo stickers and 2 unique number stickers which will not be repeated even if the main container sticker is changed for a special occasion.  Numbers will be given out on a first come first serve basis.

Sticker sets are available for $5 each plus 50 cent shipping & handling.  There is also a link available to purchase the container itself through LEGO Shop @ Home but of course you can only get the stickers directly through the Trains-n-Town website.  Both items can be purchased through links in our shop.

As always proceeds from these sales go directly towards the funding of this site.
